Perlite is made of volcanic rock or glass. Perlite can be used as a mix in to your soil medium to provide better aeration but you can also use alone to grow propagations. When working with perlite, use outside preferably or use a mask when using indoors. Another way to do it too is placing any cuttings in a ziplock bag along with the perlite, and seal it. Put the bag under a grow light or near the window, and keep that perlite moist. Once you see roots at least 2-3 inches, you can transfer to th
