The US Supreme Court will decide whether federal ballots can be counted if they arrive after Election Day, reviewing a federal appeals court decision invalidating a Mississippi law.

“The stakes are high: ballots cast by — but received after — election day can swing close races and change the course of the country,” Attorney General Lynn Fitch wrote.
